Lost in life

Sometimes, it feels like who I am and who I believe myself to be, have nothing in common. I like to believe that I do not shy from the work that needs to be done, but my results don’t add up to the progress I expect.

The beliefs I hold about who I am might not be entirely correct, but they allow for a stable foundation that I can build upon. What I build is up to me, and the more building blocks come from who I really am, the better my life will be.

A task we should all consider is to try and connect the beliefs we have to the essence of our being. This way we make sure that our actions stem from our true self, and that our ideas are our own.

In today’s world, more than ever, it’s important to form your own ideas and your own opinions. This does not mean you have to disregard everyone else’s, but you need to pass it through your thought process so that what you hold on to is correct and useful.

Many people skip the analysis and end up with a mash of thoughts and ideas that are not their own. In time, these thoughts and ideas grow roots and start influencing the ideas coming out of your mind and the actions you put into the world.

Am I the only one that is lost in his own life? Some days I feel like I have stumbled in someone else’s life. Nothing feels familiar. What am I supposed to do? Where am I supposed to go?

All kinds of questions pop up in my mind, but the answers that I come up with fail to provide any clarity. My actions come out of inertia, I do them because I know they need to be done.

I long for things that speak to my soul, that replenish the energy everything else is draining. My days are not much different from one another, and it seems they have been designed with the single purpose of keeping me busy. My choice in the matter is nonexistent, and this is affecting my creativity.

As humans, we have been built with many needs and many abilities. For us to enjoy life we must fulfill some of those needs and put some of our abilities to work in a way that can benefit us and other people.

We need to be the ones choosing where our energy goes so that we can have a life to call our own. As long as we allow the circumstances we are in right now, dictate the perspective we have on life, we will have a hard time finding out where we belong.

I believe we all need to find the place we belong in life, but for that to happen we need to have a more active role. We can’t allow ourselves to be swept by the tide one way or the other. Every human being has the right to feel that life is what needs to be, but work and faith are necessary for this to happen.

There is nothing more precious than who you are as a person. You need to understand and accept this so that you can find your place in the world. This statement is valid for everyone else, so make sure to give others the chance to be themselves.
