Easy to do

It is easy to let yourself go. That’s why so many people find themselves different persons later in life. The person you become is dictated by what you do regularly, small, insignificant things that you don’t pay attention to.

You believe that change is going to happen according to your plan. While you expect change to happen in leaps, it actually comes in your life with small steps. It is easy to ignore that little thing you have to do, when it’s seemingly unimportant, but if you are honest to yourself, is just as easy to do it.

Take some time and analyze what in your life you are ignoring. What small things you could do, that over time could bring the changes you desire. Look in places you haven’t noticed before. Notice things you haven’t noticed before. Try perspectives that you haven’t experienced before.

Everything that you do, or don’t do, is important for the person you’ll turn out to be, more so the things that you don’t notice. Pay attention to what you do. Know the reasons for why you are doing that. This way you’ll know that what you’re ignoring is something that you don’t want to do.

Don’t become too comfortable with the way things are going that you forget the destination you’re heading towards. Hold yourself responsible for every step you take, or don’t take. This way you’ll never find yourself in a place without knowing how you got there.

What do you do when darkness comes over you? Do you let it in, or you fight against it? What works best for you? There are days when you are empty, and no matter how hard you try, nothing can make the feeling go away.

You’re able to find the good things in your life, but they don’t change the way you feel right now. This only makes the darkness grow, because you blame yourself for having no reason to feel this way. Stop overthinking everything. Not every little thing needs to be analyzed in detail. For most things, the better it is.

When emptiness grows inside you, fill that space with work. It might not solve the problem, but it will distract you long enough to find balance again. The way you are feeling now can’t be completely avoided. It’s something that you will feel from time to time, even when things seem to go great.

All your life, you’ve been trying to find that one thing that can fix everything, that one thing that can make you feel happy, that one thing that can fill the empty space inside of you. Well, that one thing, it doesn’t exist. What you need to do is to acknowledge the small things that life is made of.

The power to chase away the darkness is in appreciating the small things. Don’t give up on yourself, no matter how hard things are. Remember that every night darkness comes, but with the promise that tomorrow’s light will come again.
