Who’s to blame?

All of your life you’ve been blaming everyone else for the way you’ve been feeling. But how can the way you feel be about something else? You’ve asked yourself this question lately, and you’re starting to understand that the way you’ve been feeling is about you.

If you look back on your life, you’ll be able to see that most of your suffering was caused by the way you responded to what happened, and not by what happened. Isn’t the way you respond to something your choice? So, then, who is responsible for the way you’ve been feeling?

There’s no point in blaming yourself now. The past can no longer be changed, but you can use a different approach for the future. Start paying attention to how you respond to what happens. If it’s not how you want to, try to understand why you acted that way, and next time, make a different choice.

Because you did things a certain way until now, you might believe that there is no other way, but you are wrong. There is always another way. Use what you know for as long as it is good for you. When it’s no longer useful, let it go to make room for something new.

If how you feel is not how you want to be feeling, it is only because you got used to being in a state that is not good for you. Even if you now understand that it will take time to unlearn the things keeping you in this state. You can get free, but don’t expect it to be fast and easy.

Can’t you see it? It’s right in front of you. Everything that you were searching for, was never about anyone but yourself. All that you did, was meant to lead you to this point in life so that you can understand the world can’t give you anything that you don’t already have.

Your evolution is more of a process of rediscovering who you are, what kind of person is behind all this facade you allow people to see. So, your search was never about something that can fix all your problems, an answer to everything. You were searching for yourself, without knowing that you were lost.

Now that you understand this, and see it to be true, the past makes a lot more sense. And maybe you can go into the future with more confidence. There is a lot more that you need to learn about yourself. Your entire life might not be enough for that, but it’s something that you need to keep doing.

The more you learn about who you are, the easier it becomes to reject what the world tells you to be. There is value in who you are uniquely, but all that you think you are needs to be tasted.

Along your path, there will be temptations that rarely look like temptations and help that doesn’t look like help. Nothing looks like what it is in the outer world, but in the world inside, things are how you tell them to be. Remember that.
