A speck of dust, a drop of rain, a single heartbeat, they are all unique. It might not seem so, but they are. We all strive for that uniqueness. We want to be different from everyone else, but at the same time, we want to be accepted and appreciated. This is an endeavor destined to fail.
Regardless of our abilities and our character, it is impossible to please everyone. It can’t be done and it has no useful purpose. Instead, we should appreciate the things making us unique and making them count.
The only person we need to please it’s looking at us from the mirror every morning. This is not to say people around you don’t matter, but you can do anything you want and let everyone do the same.
For a long time, I’ve been wondering what is our purpose here. Why we come into this world? I still don’t have a clear answer. I don’t think I’ll ever have a clear answer, but I choose to believe in a certain way.
I believe we come into this world to give as much of ourselves as we can. It is a path I have chosen late in my life, but I intend to follow it until the end.
When I talk about giving as much as you can, I am not talking about possessions. I am talking about sharing who you are with the world and in doing this, make the world a better place. The steps on this path I found are to love, even when you are not loved, to give, even if you get nothing in return, to build people up and show them they are important.
If I were to give advice, I would pray that you make life better for at least one person. If you can, please don’t stop there and try to touch as many lives as you can. In doing so you will find your own life flourishing.
